GENERAL INFO

FORWARD
This site shows a range of figurative / abstract paintings in acrylic, painted on slate, canvas and board, the theme throughout is bathing or showering, sometimes dancing, athletes, sport, and Vitruvian man.  

SLATES/FRAMES
Slates can be new, modern, or composition, some are old and some very old, and may have old nail holes (some with nails), some may be trimmed, some have edges which can be fragile and care is advised when handling as may flake. Some od the older slates were acquired as being Windsor Castle salvage following the devastating fire in 1992.  Frames can also be new/modern, and in cases where pre-owned steps have been taken to restore/refurbish them.

DIMENSIONS
Whilst effort has been taken to ensure accuracy of measurement, dimensions may in practice differ from that stated.

WEIGHT
It should be noted that slate is a heavy material and generally speaking the larger and/or thicker a slate is, the heavier it will be, so if weight is a concern  (my heavier slates can be in the 10/14 kg region) please don’t hesitate to enquire via the Contact page form.  Some of the larger pictures frames are also heavy.

PAYMENTS
All payments are processed securely through Squarespace.

SHIPPING
UK shipping costs are included in the price (unless specialist packing and/or crating is requested) although costs may be incurred for shipment overseas (please don’t hesitate to ask).

HANGING LOCATIONS
Whilst my pictures hang in all usual places in the home I am often asked whether I would have any objection to my work (slates in particular) being hung in bathrooms/restrooms, kitchens, or gyms – the answer is no, I’ve no objection, in fact I’m all for it.

INSTALLATIONS/COMMISSIONS
These vary, examples can be size to fit wall space, pairs or more or even series, painted (slate) shower interiors, swimmimng pool surrounds, conservatory walls … I am always open to discuss ideas.

COPYRIGHT MATTERS
Please note that (i) all images are subject to copyright in the usual way however anyone wishing to reproduce any of the works in this site by whatever means, whether in part or in whole, are kindly asked to apply to me for permission as depending on the nature, extent and placement I may wish to make a charge, (ii) some of my work relates to images found online when steps are/have been taken to contact makers/owners for permission to use such images (typically a fruitless exercise) but in all cases as I trust is apparent my work seeks to transform those images, in more ways than one, and accordingly I hope/trust in compliance with copyright law as I have come to learn and understand it, so at all times I seek to be ethically responsible, (iii) I can always take down if offence is caused, (iv) the same applies in relation to my work reproduced in private / commercial settings.
